Iron artist and welder
I was born on the Mediterranean sea shore of Barcelona in the early sixties.
I started in the art world with an interest photography. I trained at the Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia and the Barcelona International Center of Photography, where I specialized in graphic report.
Afterwards I developed a passion for iron. I learned at the hands of Josep Plandiura, in his studio in St. Pere de Vilamajor and with the master welder José Antonio Rescalvo.
In recent years, I opted for teaching, especially to the most vulnerable students. Since 2002, I have taught welding to people at risk of social exclusion, unemployed and immigrants, and have prepared tailored-made courses to different groups. I have also worked with the Center of Social Rehabilitation Initiatives - Centre d’Iniciatives per a la Reinserció (Cire) giving classes to inmates at Brians and Model penitentiary centers.
For several years, I performed logistics tasks in different African countries with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF ).
I am currently organizing different courses and exhibitions of my work.
